Here it is, Friday again. End of the day. Gleeful cries of TGIF rattle silently in tired worker-bee brains, if they’re not shouted aloud.

And here is my weekly blog… which should have been here Thursday. MORNING.

How did I lose track of my commitments, my editor’s expectations, my time?

I’ll tell you how. It’s my family’s fault.

This week my daughter spent Wednesday night at her school, which meant on Thursday I didn’t drive her in. And then today was a school holiday, so I was a lone commuter again this morning.

Throw off my home routine, and my work routine collapses alongside it.  A little like being on vacation, and losing all connection with the calendar.

I’ll have to write a little note to myself and pin it to my car visor so I won’t forget.

SELF: Situation Normal resumes Monday. Go to work. Place daughter in passenger seat first.

That oughta do it. Though, if any of my friends are out there, a wakeup call would be appreciated.
